girlscanscan: "What if Nature Comes First?"

As part of our 2024–2025 collaboration with the international architecture platform LINA, we invited three young creative teams from Europe, to develop a short film focused on a case from their own context. The films respond to the Triennale theme “What if Nature Comes First?”, and bring forward new perspectives to our research, reflecting upon value definition, the impact of materials extraction in the landscape, and informal practices of circularity. The film "What if Nature Comes First?" is made by girlscanscan collective. Established at the Bercsenyi Architecture Student Studio at the Technical University of Budapest, since 2020 they have been researching the built environment of the former Eastern Bloc, exploring both tangible and intangible layers of the socialist urban fabric.

Founded in 2021 as a nonprofit organization, it constitutes a multidisciplinary collective of designers, architects, builders, recent graduates, and faculty members affiliated with the Estonian Academy of Arts.

The film "Your Soft Spot is My Labor" is made by HARVEST SALON, a design and filmmaking collective based in Germany and Switzerland. They are practicing at the intersection of architecture and design, seeking to foster emancipatory processes within communities through artistic research and interventions.

Baukreisel: Window Matters

As part of our collaboration with the international architecture platform LINA we invited three teams of young creatives to discuss the topic of sustainability and biodiversity, under the title 'Towards New Naturehoods'. The seminar was organised at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design in May 2024, featuring three up-and-coming European transdisciplinary practices: Franco-Dutch architecture duo Studio Acte, Polish-Danish lab Foil&Soil, and German-Austrian collective Baukreisel. This film 'Window Matters' was made by Baukreisel.
