What happens to architecture when the building itself plays a greater role in regulating the indoor climate through its design?
Vertikal Nydalen was developed with the aim of reducing the need for conventional heating, cooling and mechanical ventilation. The project explores how architecture, materials and technical solutions can work together to create a more energy-efficient building and a comfortable indoor climate.
On the guided tour, Anne Cecilie Haug from Snøhetta will take us through Vertikal Nydalen and introduce the ideas and solutions behind the project. If practically possible, the tour will also include a visit to one of the apartments.
How can buildings adapt to the climate with less technology? And what can Vertikal Nydalen teach us about how architecture can play a more active role in responding to a changing climate?
