In the workshop - Build a City for All: What if Nature Came First?, children and families are invited to build a shelter or habitat for another species. Using branches, stones, logs, bark, pine cones, moss and other natural materials, children can build, stack, move and explore.
Dates:
Sunday 20 September and Sunday 27 September
Time:
10:30–12:00
Location:
Outside Sofienberg Church
The workshop is for:
Children aged approximately 4–10, accompanied by an adult
About the workshop:
What if, instead of designing the city for people first, we began by asking what other species need?
Naturbanken is an open play installation created as part of the Oslo Architecture Triennale. The materials are available for children to play and build with, both during the workshops and throughout the exhibition period.
Anything that is built can be left in place, moved, taken apart or developed further by others. In this way, Naturbanken will continue to evolve through play.
The installation builds on the natural play area Bygg, sans, grav og lek (Build, Sense, Dig and Play) in Iladalen. The idea is that children do not need ready-made playground equipment to play, but materials they can use and shape on their own terms. Exploring natural materials creates space for imagination, discovery and a stronger connection to nature.
Drop by whenever you like and stay for as long as you like.
