The Norwegian Climate Commission 2050 states that nature's limits should be the starting point for all economic activity. But what does that really mean?

This half day conference, organised in collaboration with Alm - centre for economic politics, looks at the theory of how we can create a more sustainable economy and society with the discipline of ecological economics as a starting point. At the same time, we will explore how this knowledge has been used and can be used in practice.

What does urban and local development look like when nature's limits are set as a premise? In a world where we use too many natural resources and are already exceeding several planetary boundaries, how can other values, solutions and models both promote a high quality of life and reduce the pressure on nature?
