Privacy Policy

The Oslo Architecture Triennale (OAT) Privacy Policy describes how OAT collects and uses your personal information.

The privacy policy contains information you are entitled to receive in connection with the collection of your personal information, in accordance with the EU's new rules on data protection, which apply from 1 July 2018.

1 Data Controller

OAT is the Data Controller for the purpose of processing personal information. OAT’s representative for this purpose is our Communication Manager, who is currently Eva Amine Wold Engeset.

2 How we collect and use personal information

OAT collects personal information from people who subscribe voluntarily to our newsletters. Our Data Processor is Mailchimp. We collect and use your personal information in order to send you newsletters containing information, invitations and other relevant material relating to OAT and the OAT members.

3 The legal basis for processing

OAT’s processing of personal data complies with the Norwegian Personal Information Act and the EU's new rules on data protection, which apply from 1 July 2018. The legal basis for our processing of your personal data is consent, cf. General Data Protection Regulation, Article 6 (1) (a). You can withdraw your consent at any time. If you wish to withdraw your consent, you can either unsubscribe from our newsletters or contact us in accordance with Clause 10 of this Privacy Policy.

4 What personal information do we process?

OAT collects the names and email addresses (optional: address) of people who subscribe voluntarily to our newsletters. OAT’s Data Processor is Mailchimp (the distributor of our newsletters by email). We will store your personal information only for as long as it is needed to realize the purpose it was collected for, or until you unsubscribe from our newsletters or withdraw your consent.

5 How do we obtain personal information?

We collect the personal information of people who subscribe voluntarily to our newsletters. Our Data Processor is Mailchimp.

6 Is personal information disclosed to OAT on a voluntary basis?

Personal information is disclosed to OAT on a voluntary basis.

7 Is my personal information shared with third parties or other recipients?

We will not share your personal information with other organizations and individuals. We use MailChimp as our Data Processor, which involves the transfer of personal data to a third country, i.e. the United States. MailChimp is certified by the Privacy Shield Frameworks, which are designed to ensure an adequate level of legal protection.

8 How is personal information deleted and archived?

Personal data is stored by MailChimp, which is OAT’s Data Processor. Your personal data will be deleted if you unsubscribe from our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" button at the bottom of the newsletter.

9 What rights do I have and what country's laws apply?

In accordance with the Norwegian Personal Data Act and the EU's new rules on data protection, which apply from July 1, 2018, you have the right to request access to your personal data, to request the correction or deletion of incomplete or incorrect information. You also have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal information and to object to the processing of your personal information. You also have the right to data portability, i.e., the right to obtain the personal information that a data controller holds about you and to transmit it to another data controller. You can exercise these rights by contacting us in accordance with Clause 10 of this Privacy Policy.
