Katja Høst studied at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design. Social structures and practices, as well as collective memories and identity, are recurring themes in her work. Høst has held numerous solo exhibitions in Norway and abroad, published five photobooks and carried out commissions for public and private clients.

When the quick clay landslide struck Gjerdrum on 30 December 2020, the landscape was permanently transformed. Omrørt builds on the project Reetablering av skredområdet, Gjerdrum, which was developed in collaboration with Grindaker Landskapsarkitekter, Sweco, Gjerdrum Municipality and NVE.
