Iñaqui Carnicero Alonso-Colmenares is Secretary General for Urban Agenda, Housing and Architecture in Spain. He has a Ph.D. in Architecture (Polytechnic University of Madrid, 2015), has had a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome in 2008 for his research and been Head of La Casa de la Arquitectura (ES_ARQ). Carnicero is visiting professor at some of the most prestigious international universities, including Cornell, Columbia, Yale, and MIT. His work has received international recognition, earning awards such as the Golden Lion at the 2016 Venice Biennale, the AIA New York Housing Design Award (2015), the Hauser Award (2012), Design Vanguard (2011), the FAD Architecture Award (2012), and the COAM Award (2012). Beyond his architectural practice, he has been actively engaged in teaching, research, and curation, focusing on housing, urban development, and the sustainable revitalization of the built environment.
