Program: The Sofienberg Naturalization Bureau

Enrique Encinas is Associate Professor at the Institute of Design, Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO), where he leads CRAITR — Creative Practice, Experimental AI and Emerging Technologies Research — and teaches artificial intelligence, creative coding and interactive spaces. His work investigates the patterns and textures formed by humans and technologies through creative, critical and collaborative practice, with a focus on AI agency, acoustic telepresence and human-machine co-authorship. He is also design researcher at the Ocean Industries Concept Lab, expert advisor to the Emergent Technologies Research Group at the Academy of Fine Arts Prague, Experimental AI lead in the Ars Biologica Independent Study Program, and a member of the Uroboros Collective and Festival. He has co-led projects with the European Commission’s Policy Lab, the CCCB in Barcelona, and SpeculativeEDU.

At the Oslo Architecture Triennale, he is one of the initiators and organisers of The Sofienberg Naturalization Bureau, where language and technology intersect, including through a local language model that documents and processes participants’ contributions
