What we fill our buildings with often falls outside both regulatory requirements and carbon accounting. Interiors have high material consumption, short lifespans and still too few incentives for reuse. If nature is truly to come first, we therefore need to change not only individual projects, but also the systems and value chains around them.
How can existing interiors and materials be reused? What economic and regulatory barriers stand in the way? And what needs to change for circular solutions to become the easiest choice?
The Norwegian Association of Interior Architects and Furniture Designers (NIL), together with its partners, invites you to a morning seminar exploring the path from current practice towards a more circular value chain. Through short presentations, a reuse hackathon, a presentation of the cross-border project Forest to Chair, and a concluding panel discussion, we will examine what needs to change and attempt to formulate concrete measures that can help move the industry forward.
