With their pocket full first prizes including receiving the Swiss Art Award in Architecture, Conen Sigl is working on several larger projects in and around Zurich, such as a cooperative housing project, a fire station, and the renovation of the Kunsthaus Glarus. ‘Strong’ space and atmosphere characterize the projects, regardless of scale, or whether it’s inside the home or out about in the city; they contain the nuances that make one pay special attention to the place.

Conen Sigl is a Swiss architecture practice, established in 2011 by Maria Conen and Raoul Sigl. The office works on a wide range of architectural projects, but is known for having a particular focus on, and interest in working with existing structures, often with housing.

Early works primarily focused on smaller interior and exterior projects, and the development of what they describe as an architecture of strong spaces with a specific atmosphere.

OAF invites you to a screening of the film "The Competition" on Wednesday 7 December at Frogner Cinema, where we take a peek into the culture surrounding the too familiar architectural competition, which has also helped to shape the practice of Conen Sigl.

The lecture series for the Oslo Architects Association this autumn is an independent lecture series, but this autumn will be linked to the Oslo Architecture Triennale's theme "Neighbourhood assignments - (Re)forms for community."

Oslo Architects' Association (OAF) is a local association in the National Association of Norwegian Architects.
